"Y como siempre, allí estábamos los de siempre, haciendo lo de siempre. Sentados en la oscuridad, alejados de todo aquel que solo quería imponernos algo. Todos hablábamos, reíamos, bebíamos y todas esas cosas que haces con los amigos.
Cuando mejor lo pasábamos, Carol, mi mejor amiga empezó a llorar mientras gritaba que en el fondo en la oscuridad había alguien que vestía de negro y estaba tan pálido (o al menos eso vio) que parecía un muerto. Todos comenzamos a reírnos y le dijimos que dejara de beber. Ella insistió.
Dos de los chicos que estaban con nosotras se ofrecieron a acompañarla hasta el sitio para que se convenciera de que allí no había nada ni nadie. Al final fuimos todos. Llegamos, miramos por todas partes y, como habíamos pensado, no había nada; mejor dicho, nadie.
A Carolina se le pasó el susto. Volvimos a crear el ambiente que teníamos, cuando vi algo: era ese hombre, el de negro. Me entró tal miedo que comencé a gritar. Los chicos pusieron cara de mosqueo y nos empezaron a decir que la broma había estado muy bien pero que paráramos, que se estaba haciendo pesada. Nosotras no dejábamos de decir que aquello no era una broma, que habíamos visto a aquel hombre o lo que fuese.
Después de un rato decidimos quedarnos allí un poco mas, pero esta vez cambiamos los sitios.
Cuando mas a gusto estábamos, uno de los chicos, Juan, le dijo a otro que mirase al fondo. Este se levanto y dijo gritando ¡¡¡¡CORRED!!!!
No tuve tiempo a girarme y mirar, pero se lo que vieron. ¡¡¡SI!!! Se que habíamos bebido, y también se que cuando se bebe se puede llegar a ver cosas que en realidad no están pasando pero en este caso lo vimos cuatro personas. No volvimos a aquel sitio nunca mas."

The New York Times reported in 2003 that internal documents from the manufacturer of Hydroxycut indicated that the company buried studies showing that Hydroxycut was ineffective, covered up evidence of cardiac side effects, and even tampered with the documents it submitted as evidence in the lawsuit.[5] An accurate assessment of the safety of dietary supplements in the United States, including Hydroxycut and other weight loss supplements, is hampered by a lack of oversight and regulation of the supplement industry.[2]
Ultimately, scientific evidence of serious side effects from Hydroxycut products accumulated, including liver failure (requiring liver transplantation in some cases), rhabdomyolysis, and at least one death, of a 19-year-old man who used the product. On May 1, 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to consumers to stop using Hydroxycut immediately because of the risk of serious side effects or death. The manufacturer then recalled the products,[3] although a new formulation of Hydroxycut weight loss products has been created and is being sold.[4]
