Sentado sobre una piedra, Pedrito se pasaba el rato contemplando el volar de las águilas, y eso le había costado más de una bronca, por parte de su madre. Este vivía a unos tres kilómetros del pueblo y solía ir al colegio andando. Su mayor ilusión de siempre era volar algún día como los pájaros.
—Pero Pedro ¿como llegas tan tarde, si hace más de dos horas que terminó el colegio?
—He estado contemplando las águilas, me encantaría volar como ellas.
—Pero hijo, tú eres un ser humano, no un águila ¿además no tienes plumas?
—Ya lo se mamá, pero es superior a mi.
—Anda y coge la merienda Pedro, que se te va juntar con la cena y déjate ya de volar, que tienes muchos pájaros en la cabeza.
Al día siguiente estando sentado en su piedra y como siempre contemplando a las águilas, se le acercó una joven muy guapa y le dijo — ¿te gustaría algún día, volar como ellas?

Al día siguiente estando sentado en su piedra y como siempre contemplando a las águilas, se le acercó una joven muy guapa y le dijo — ¿te gustaría algún día, volar como ellas?
Pedro que estaba mirando el volar de las águilas, no se había dado cuentas y se sobresalto un poco.
— No te asustes Pedro¬ —le dijo la joven, con una voz muy dulce—.
—Esa sería mí mayor ilusión señorita, pero nunca podré hacerlo— decía Pedrito, bastante desanimado—.
—Por que dices eso, de que nunca podrás hacerlo – le preguntaba la joven —.
—Señorita, yo no tengo alas ni plumas y si no tengo esas dos cosas, nunca podré hacerlo aunque me guste mucho.
—No tienes alas, pero tienes otros valores muy importantes.
—De que valores me habla usted.
—Desde ahora en adelante podrás volar y para hacerlo, solo tendrás que cerrar los ojos y pensar en volar.
—Señorita, muchas veces los he cerrado y hasta el momento nunca he volado.
—Ciérralos ahora y veras como podrás hacerlo.
Pedro cerró los ojos y como un águila fue volando y por primera vez, desde las alturas pudo ver su casa, el río, los animales y sentir la fresca brisa refrescando sus mejillas.
Cuando pedro abrió los ojos, la joven ya se había marchado. Esta le había dejado un mensaje escrito en el suelo, el cual decía “sigue siempre así y cuando quieras volar, solo tendrás que cerrar los ojos”.
Desde entonces Pedro se sentía muy afortunado, había conseguido lo que tanto deseaba.
En uno de sus muchos vuelos, vio a un amigo caerse en un pozo ciego y su rápida actuación salvo su vida.
Pedro estaba muy contento, por que además de hacer lo que tanto deseaba (que no todos lo consiguen), se dio cuentas que podía ayudar a la gente y eso le hacía la persona más feliz del mundo.
